SWM Motors Türkiye to Begin Local Production in September

The G01 PRO, developed specifically for Türkiye, will be produced in Eskişehir. The first locally manufactured Chinese model will hit the roads this fall.

ATMO Group, known for offering accessible SUV models through the SWM Motors brand, has completed preparations for the start of local production in Türkiye. As part of a joint venture with Urzema Holding, SWM Türkiye’s first domestically produced model will roll off the assembly line in September at the Eskişehir Organized Industrial Zone (OSB).

Prior to the investment decision, extensive feasibility and analysis studies were carried out. With its logistical advantages, qualified workforce, and deep-rooted industrial background, Eskişehir was identified as a strategic production site for Türkiye’s automotive industry. A symbolic location in the country’s automotive history, Eskişehir is now set to become a hub for next-generation mobility solutions.

The G01 PRO, a new model developed specifically for the Turkish market, stands out with its updated interior design, advanced technology, and modern powertrain options. The vehicle has been fully tailored to meet the expectations and needs of Turkish consumers. Assembly, quality control, and testing operations will take place at the new Eskişehir facility, which has also been designed with flexibility to accommodate additional models in future production phases.

The production facility is not only focused on meeting local demand — it will also serve as a regional export hub. With current operations spanning the Balkans and Europe, ATMO Group aims to expand its export network through this investment. This initiative is expected to create significant added value for the Turkish economy and further strengthen Türkiye’s position in the global automotive industry.

In parallel with growing production capacity, SWM Türkiye is rapidly expanding its dealership network. Following the local production decision, there has been a noticeable increase in dealership applications across the country. These requests are being carefully evaluated with a focus on maintaining high service standards and partnering with strong, visionary dealers. The goal is to more than double the dealership network by the end of 2024. The new production facility in Eskişehir will not only function as a manufacturing plant — it will also become a center for technology and innovation. This new phase for the SWM brand in Türkiye will bring the company even closer to its consumers and reinforce Türkiye’s presence in the global automotive landscape.
