After entering the Turkish automotive market in 2022 with its extensive international experience and long-standing industry background, ATMO Group is now preparing to officially launch the Italian brand SWM in Turkey. ATMO Group will bring SWM’s bold SUV and LCV models to Turkish roads. Founded in Italy in 1971, SWM stands out with an annual production capacity of over 300,000 vehicles. Anton Chernov, CEO of ATMO Group Turkey, stated, “We decided to apply our international automotive experience to the Turkish market by launching a new distributor investment. SWM is a dynamic brand that brings together Italian design and German production technology. With the support of its parent company, Chinese automotive giant Shineray Group, we strongly believe that SWM will quickly gain the appreciation of Turkish consumers. We are confident that our accessible and ambitious SUV models will bring a new energy to the Turkish market. Our dealer network negotiations are progressing rapidly, and very soon we will launch a strong network covering all of Turkey for both sales and after-sales service.”
Mr. Li Guo, General Manager of Overseas Markets at SWM, emphasized Turkey’s strategic importance within the brand’s global plans by saying, “Turkey is one of the most important European markets in our global roadmap. Turkish customers will always be our top priority. With our sincere and dedicated service approach, we firmly believe we will quickly win the hearts of Turkish consumers. We say to our customers in Turkey: ‘Enjoy the ride, leave the problems with your car to us.’”
The dynamic structure of Turkey’s automotive market continues to attract international brands and investors. In 2023, ATMO Group entered the Turkish market by initially acquiring dealership rights of various brands. Now, the company is expanding its presence by introducing new international brands. Within this scope, ATMO Group is preparing to present the Italian manufacturer SWM to Turkish consumers.
Over 300,000 Vehicles Produced Annually!
SWM, which is preparing to enter the Turkish market through ATMO Group, was founded in Italy in 1971. In 2014, the brand was acquired by the Chinese Shineray Holding, and in 2016, SWM Motors became part of Brilliance Shineray Chongqing Automobile Co. Ltd. While the brand’s design studio is located in Milan and retains a distinctly Italian identity, its R&D Center—with over 1,000 employees—is based in Chongqing, China. The brand currently manufactures more than 300,000 vehicles annually. “With the support of a major global player like Shineray Group, we have no doubt that SWM will quickly win the admiration of Turkish customers. We’re confident that our accessible and bold SUV models will inject new energy into the Turkish automotive market,” added Anton Chernov.
A New Driving Experience with Leading Technologies!
Highlighting that dealer negotiations are ongoing to quickly complete the network setup, Anton Chernov said, “We will soon have a strong nationwide network in place across Turkey. SWM observes the sophisticated production principles and strict quality standards of the German automotive industry, and offers an entirely new driving experience with market-leading technologies such as plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles. With SWM, our goal is to provide modern technologies with maximum safety, combining performance and design. We are confident the brand will achieve great success in Turkey in a short time.”
SWM’s R&D and production quality—shaped by a team that includes former BMW designers—are implemented in accordance with the Brilliance-BMW quality management system. All vehicles are manufactured to European standards thanks to field audits and quality inspections conducted by BMW Group’s former quality director, Franz Gollmann.
Leave the Problems With Your Car to Us!
Reiterating Turkey’s importance in SWM’s international expansion, Mr. Li Guo, General Manager of SWM Overseas, said, “Turkish customers will be our highest priority. With our sincere and dedicated service approach, we are fully confident that we will quickly win the hearts of Turkish consumers. To our customers in Turkey, we say: ‘Enjoy the ride—leave your vehicle concerns to us.’”
